If 40 years of boat building has taught us anything, it's that compromise is not wanted nor is it needed. Moreover, we conducted a 'frequency of options' study and over 90% of our customers routinely checked every box in what used to be our options sheet. Now every Hydra Sports Custom boat comes fully configured with all the "options" our customers had to pick and choose in the past. It's the reason we now have "custom" in our name. Most boat manufacturers call a gunnel mounted door a “tuna door”. Reality is many more owners and crew go through these doors than tuna. So why not call it what it is, a “dock door”? Most doors open outboard and are of no use at the dock. Our inward swinging door easily allows captain and crew to get on and off the boat. Fishermen and divers will sacrifice nothing as the reentry ladder will neatly stowaway so when you do need to bring big fish aboard there is no hardware to cut the line or get in the way. At Hydra Sports we also reinforce the starboard side of the boat to accommodate the door…so there IS more than just having a door.
